IIS has been involved, with other important European Research Bodies and Organisms acting in the welding field and the related techniques, of which the major representative is the European Welding Federation (EWF), in the development of several European Cooperation projects, in the field of its own competence, determining the exchange of scientific and technical information and contributing to the removal of technical barriers, promoting in this way the free circulation of persons and goods.
Such projects address topics such as Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Technological development and Innovation, in compliance with the new EU Directives.
Supported by the 5th and 6th FrameWork Programme and the Leonardo da Vinci Programme IIS is cooperating, at present, in the development of several projects.
